Kings Carey, Grenache 2015

Kings Carey is a boutique California label founded by James Sparks (also of Liquid Farm). His wines are single‐varietal, single‐vineyard expressions from Sta. Rita Hills. Spark’s ethos is minimal intervention: organic or sustainably farmed fruit, precise pick timing, native yeast fermentations, gentle extraction, and little oak influence. The winemaking philosophy highlights purity, terroir, and effortless drinkability in small-lot, handcrafted Grenache. Light in the glass yet lively, this Sta. Rita Hills Grenache offers red cherry, hibiscus, cola, and garrigue aromas. The palate is elegant and structured, with mellow red‑cherry and rose‑petal flavors supported by fine tannins and refreshing acidity. Balanced, expressive, and charmingly understated, it's a lovely mature wine now at its peak.
